Licence

Enter the licence key, read the included features and seats, and understand what happens without a valid licence.

As of 15 October 2026 · checked against Wiestigo Mirador 0.1.0

Mirador checks its licence once a day with the Wiestigo licence service. The licence decides how many accounts may work and which features – such as variant management or AI analysis – are unlocked. This check needs an internet connection; Mirador cannot be operated without one.

Entering the key

The administrator enters the licence key:

  • in the administration, in the Settings section (setting RMM_MODEL_LICENSE_KEY), or
  • in operations in the .env file as RMM_LICENSE_KEY (Podman Compose passes it to the rms service as RMM_MODEL_LICENSE_KEY). If it is set, the value can no longer be changed in the interface.

A new key takes effect without a restart; Mirador registers it with the licence service within a minute.

Viewing the licence

The License section shows

  • the state of the licence and how long it is valid,
  • the Entitlements – which features are included,
  • the Seats – how many full seats, reader seats and technical accounts there are and how many are taken.

Check now asks the licence service at once instead of waiting for the next daily check.

What happens without a valid licence

Without a valid licence, only the administration is available: licence, settings, users and system health. Only administrators can sign in then. A notice at the top of the interface says that there is no valid licence. Your data stays unchanged; with a valid licence, everything is back.

Installations

Every installation of Mirador registers with the licence service under its own identifier. A licence covers an agreed number of installations. Anyone who sets up an installation again and deletes the database completely in the process registers a new installation – talk to us beforehand if you are planning that.

Connection to the licence service

Mirador reaches the licence service at https://license.wiestigo.com over HTTPS. Your network must allow this connection; without it, Mirador cannot be operated.

With every check, Mirador transmits only three things: the licence key, the installation’s identifier and the product version. The content of your projects, account names and usage figures never go to the licence service. What comes back is a signed statement of what the licence covers; only the rms service talks to the licence service.
